In Atonement, I don't think that Briony ever really achieves the atonement that she wants so badly. I think that it would have been different if Robbie and Cecelia had lived through the war and were able to reconnect and have the life together that they deserved. Also, if the book had ended the way that she wished it had, I think that other characters would have spoken up about who actually raped Lola. If this had happened, there would have been atonement for others as well as Briony.

My favorite Character

Out of all of the works that we have read, Blanche from A Streetcar Named Desire, has been my favorite. She was just one of those characters that was so fascinating. She truly made the play what it was. She kept me interested in the plot line, mainly because she was the one causing most of the drama. I'll be honest, I love watching the soapnet channel during the day so Blanche's character was right up my alley. She was a lot of fun to try and figure out. At first, I couldn't tell if she was crazy or just stuck up. Tennessee Williams did a great job by making Blanche increasingly crazier throughout the play. She is a character that I love to hate.

indian uprising

A plot that I think would be interesting in to read from this perspective would be from the point of view of a married couple that was getting divorced or from the point of view of a person committing adultery. I think that the stream of consciousness going back and forth from the new adulterous relationship to the guilt that they might feel about cheating on their spouse.
